Watch Point is one of the oldest historical properties in the State of
Vermont, situated on the shores of beautiful Lake Champlain in Shoreham,
Vermont. Watch Point was an extremely important place during the
revolutionary war. Today, it continues its importance in the lives of
all those who visit!! Watch Point is at the end of a private road with
20 acres of land, 1500 feet of shoreline, an 1800 era colonial house,
and 3 cottages big enough to sleep 6-8 people in each. Our wedding and
party deck is over 1300 square feet and sits right out at the edge of
the second largest lake in the United States! The views from Watch
Point are fabulous, the sunsets are breathtaking, and the landscape is
unmistakably Vermont.
This property is located at the end of Watch Point Road & has three cottages & the main house (INN) which all over look Lake Champlain. The beach area is for all to enjoy within a short walk from each cottage. There are docks available for those who wish to bring a small motor boat, fishing boat, & or bring a sailboat which may be tied up in the back bay. It is a perfect place for a small intimate wedding & has an on premise chef for catering needs & a professional photographer. Each cottage is approximately 150' to 200' ft apart & 300' to 600' from the main house. There are rooms to rent in the Main house where the property owner lives. You may request the chef's breakfast or dinner specials or join us for Friday evening (sm chg) BBQ (reservations required). You will need beach shoes as the beach area is shale. There are no drop offs & very safe for children. Water is higher in mid to late spring due to the run off of winter snow. This property is great for retreats!

About the owner: My dad purchased this property for our family & we lived here year round until the winters got to tough on my mother. Then we lived here for the summer months & my parents rented out the cottages until 1990. My mom used to do all the interior work & would make & sew all the curtains! We had regular 'renters' year after year, some of whom my parents became good friends with & would play bridge or 'uno' in our summer home. We 'kids' would play with their 'kids', fish, water ski, boat, swim, or do what kids love to do, play! It was a great place to grow up & my children who now have children of their own, & who own the property with me, love it as much as I do! We are sharing in this joint venture & hope you will join us @ this beautiful property on the shores of Lake Champlain!
